Our boys came into the tournament as the #1 seed and drew a first round bye. Their first action Saturday was a second round match up against North Harrison. The Redbirds came out a little slow but they quickly picked it up and showed why they were the top seed. The Redbirds looked good in all facets of the game: pitching, defense, hitting, and base running were all in top form. The Redbirds downed North Harrison setting up a championship match-up with the #2 seeded Mercer Cardinals. The Redbirds had control of this game from the outset. Strong pitching and solid line-drives propelled the Redbirds to a convincing 14-0 victory over Mercer. The win gave the Redbirds a third consecutive HDC Tournament Championship. It is a Great Day to be a Redbird!
