The boy's and girl's Varsity Cross-Country teams opened the 2015 season with a tough meet at Liberty this past Saturday. Due to injury, we had to run a team composed of mostly Freshmen and Sophomores. The competition was stiff as we had to face squads from much bigger schools including: Liberty, Liberty North, Oak Park, Fort Osage, and Smithville to name but a few. But our Redbirds wouldn't use the size of the competition or our youth as an excuse, they competed hard and gave a good account of themselves, their school, and their community. It was a good way to start the season, we are all proud of our runners, and we are looking forward to their growth this season and seeing all the great things they can accomplish. Keep up the hard work, It's a Great Day to be a Redbird!
