WINSTON STUDENTS SHINE AT VISUAL ARTS FAIR

On Thursday, October 8th, Ms. Wilmes' Advanced Art class attended the Missouri Western State University Visual Arts Fair.  This is an annual event that is held each fall on the campus of MWSU.  The Fair features art displays and "hands-on" art related activities for high school students across the area.  In addition to the displays and activities, students are allowed to enter their artwork into the fair.  This year there were over 600 entries from high schools of all sizes from the surrounding area.  Each year, the art department of MWSU recognizes the top 20% of all entries with a "Ribbon for Artistic Excellence."  I am very proud to announce that 3 of our students received this honor.  Josie McFee, Kristchon Hisel, and Garrett Campbell all received recognition for their artwork.  Great job representing our school and community and letting everyone know that It is a Great Day to be a Redbird!
