BOYS SHUTOUT JEFFERSON, GIRLS RUN INTO TOUGH BRAYMER SQUAD

The Winston Redbirds made the long trip to take on perennial power Jefferson on Tuesday evening.  Our boys came out strong behind solid hitting, stellar defense, and dominant pitching.  When the last out was recorded The Redbirds found themselves the victors with an impressive 9-0 win over the Eagles.  Unfortunately, our Lady Redbirds ran into a pretty good team themselves.  Our girls traveled to Braymer to take on an always athletic Lady Bobcats squad.  Our girls battled hard but found themselves on the losing end of a 4-14 score.  The boys now stand at 4-0 on the season, while the girls record falls to 1-4.  Both squads are back in action Thursday with a doubleheader against Grundy County.    The first pitch of the girl's game is 5:30, come on out and support our teams.  It is a Great Day to be a Redbird!
