SNOW RECEIVES NATIONAL RECOGNITION

Zane Snow, a 2015 graduate of Winston R-VI, was recently recognized for receiving a Bronze Rating on his Forage Production Proficiency Application. This extensive process evaluated Snow, and other winners from their respective states in the Forage Production category, in areas such as hours worked, wages earned, skills advanced, and goals obtained, just to name a few. The Winston FFA Chapter is very proud to have a member receive such an honor.

Additionally, there were many current students who recieved honors and awards at the State Fair this year.   Two of our FFA members had the honor of displaying projects on the Trailer of Champions. Georgia Caldwell was recognized for exhibiting the Reserve Grand Champion Winter Squash which she raises along with pumpkins on her farm outside of Winston. Gillian Heldenbrand received the Reserve Grand Champion Wall Hanging, which she made out of old rolled up book pages.  There were Several other FFA members who received awards:  

Drew Neth received a silver rating on his home-made BBQ Grill.
Logan Caldwell received a silver rating on his Bootjack.
Elizabeth O'Dell received a bronze for her FFA Wreath.

Congratulations to all of these exhibitors!  It's A Great Day to be a Redbird!
