FFA GETS HANDS ON IN ALBANY

Last Thursday, September 17th, the Winston FFA chapter took a trip to The Hundley-Whaley Research Center in Albany, Missouri for the annual FFA/Ag Science Day.  FFA advisor Katie Martin and 18 of her members participated in several hands-on activities at the center.  This year topics included: Fire Safety, Drones, Precision Agriculture, Training Dogs for farm use, and many others.  The highlight of the day for many of the members was the opportunity to reach their arm down into the rumen of a cow to examine the contents of their stomachs.  Students also enjoyed a demonstration on seat belt safety.  Overall, it was a great learning experience for our students and just another reason why: It is a Great Day to be a Redbird!
